Matt Puempel was claimed off the waivers by the New-York Rangers monday. The 23 years-old winger was sent down by the Ottawa Senators and his future didn't look so bright in an Ottawa's uniform.

On friday night, Puempel managed to score a goal in his first game with the blueshirts. When interviewed, he didn't hold back his anger: "“They let you play here, they let you play to your strengths [...] They know there are going to be mistakes. They’re not barking at you every time you come off the ice. It’s beneficial.” Puempel said.

A former first round pick in 2011, Puempel has only 5 goals in 53 games but he could do more if he gets more icetime "In Ottawa there for a while it was getting a little repetitious; chip the puck, chase the puck,” he said. “I think this was the most minutes I’ve played in a long time. The more minutes you get, the better you play. You’re more engaged.” concluded Puempel.

The Senators will face Rangers in New-York this sunday. Everything is set for an intense game.
