Red Wing forward scores his first career goal!

The road to the NHL has been long for Anthony Mantha, but tonight all that doesn't matter. He scored his first career goal against the Montreal Canadiens.

Mantha scored on a rebound on the power play. Montreal goalie Ben Scrivens could not handle the rebound as it dropped to his left and then Mantha pounced on it and put it in the back of the net. His grand father was on hand to witness the goal. The showed him with tears in his eyes. An interesting fact is that Anthony's grand father is Andre Pronovost who played and won a Stanley Cup with the Canadiens. It will definitely be a moment the family will not forget.

Everyone expected Mantha to be in Detroit a while before he got there. Detroit has a history of taking their time with rookies but Mantha had some work to do to earn him a spot with the Red Wings. It looks like all that hard work has paid off.
