A Red Wing has decided to leave the organization to go test his luck overseas.

MLive.com's Ansar Khan has confirmed that Wings' forward Joakim Andersson has signed a two-year contract with Örebro of the Swedish Hockey League. Andersson played in all five of the Red Wings' gams of their first-round series loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The 27-year old Swede is coming off of a disappointing season, recording only a goal and two assists in 29 games in 2015-16. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

In his five years with Detroit, Andersson recorded 15 goals and 21 assists in 205 career games.

The Red Wings selected him 88th overall (third round) in the 2007 draft.
