In case you missed the news late last night, the Detroit Red Wings and Vancouver Canucks hooked up on the 2019-20 NHL season’s first official trade.

Changing locales are defenseman Alex Biega and forward David Pope, check it out:

The 31 year old Biega has played the past five season with the Canucks organization and is a career 6th or 7th defenseman. He potted two goals and 16 points in 41 games with the Canucks last season.

As for Pope, the 25 year old forward put up just two goals and three points in 28 AHL games last season, but was his team’s leading scorer in his final year of college.

The Edmonton native also played four seasons in the BCHL, so he’s no stranger to the west coast of Canada.
