Red Wings announce a big return to their line up after a long absence.

Losing a player to injury is the reality of professional sports and team's have no choice but to prepare for it, expect it, and frankly just deal with it when major injuries come along. With that said there's no way to appropriately adjust when you lose a player and a leader like veteran defenseman Niklas Kronwall.

Thankfully the Detroit Red wings have announced on Tuesday that they have finally activated Kronwall off of injured reserve after he was forced to miss the team's last 15 games. Kronwall had been sidelined following a knee surgery, and it was a long road to recovery for Kronwall who had returned to the ice some time ago but wasn't able to return to action until now.

Kronwall will return to action this evening when the Red Wings take on the Columbus Blue Jackets, and Jakub Kindl has been sent down to the AHL to make a roster spot available for the returning Kronwall.
