The Detroit Red Wings have been hit hard by injuries this season but things are finally starting to look up.

With a number of players believed to be close to returning to the line up, the Red Wings got some good news via general manager Ken Holland on Tuesday when he revealed that the team would have one of their defensemen returning to the line up.

From NHL.com:

General manager Ken Holland told Mlive.com that defenseman Alexey Marchenko, who has missed the last seven games with a shoulder injury, could play in Thursday night's game in Los Angeles against the Kings.

It's big for the Wings, and according to Holland there is more good news on the way with both Mike Green and Justin Abdelkader also relatively close to getting back in the line up as well.

Holland said Green is a possibility after the California trip and Abdelkader is a week to two and a half weeks away.
