The Detroit Red Wings have lost one of the two forwards who were rumored to be leaving the team this offseason.

According to a report from Red Wings insider Ansar Khan of Mlive.com, Red Wings center Joakim Andersson has made the decision to return to Sweden, and will be playing in the Swedish Hockey League come next season.

Despite spending the majority of the season in the American Hockey League, Andersson featured in a big role for the Red wings during the post season, appearing in every playoff game, primarily as a penalty killer.

Andersson never really quite panned out for the Red Wings, and Khan does not believe his departure will be too much of a loss for the club.

Andersson (6-2, 211) does not skate well and has a limited offensive game. He has 15 goals and 21 assists in 205 games with Detroit.
