The Detroit Red Wings have just announced a pretty important signing.

According to an announcement via the team's official website, general manager Steve Yzerman has signed 24 year old forward Robby Fabbri to a brand new two-year contract. Fabbri, a former first round pick of the St. Louis Blues, proved to be an important part of the Red Wings offense last season despite the awful struggles that the team had a times during the regular season. Over his 51 games with the Red Wings he recorded 14 goals and 17 assists for a combined total of 31 points and this no doubt contributed to him getting another contract.

The Red Wings have not released the financial terms of the deal but we will provide an update here as soon as those details begin to leak out.

Stay tuned.
