Red Wings pick up a very important two points!

Detroit was able to pick up the win against another team that is fighting for their playoff lives last night. They beat the Minnesota Wild 3-2 to keep pace with the Boston Bruins who also won last night.

The two points also helped the Wings tie the Philadelphia Flyers in points with 89 but the Flyers remain in the final wild card spot due to having 2 games in hand. Detroit is still just 1 point behind Boston for 3rd in the Atlantic division and they both have the same amount of games remaining.

Thankfully the Bruins have had a bit of a stumble lately. It has opened another door that the Wings could potentially take advantage of. The Flyers have been strong going 6-2-2 in their last 10. Detroit has only been a .500 club going 5-5-0 and Boston has gone 3-6-1 over their last 10. It is definitely going to be a crazy finish. The craziest part is that the Wings face the Flyers and Bruins on back to back night this coming Wednesday and Thursday and that will most likely determine their fate. Win both and things might be looking good, lose both and that might be all she wrote.
