The Detroit Red Wings have made a minor signing on Friday.

According to a report from Red Wings insider Helen St. James of the Detroit Free Press, the Wings have inked forward Tomas Nosek to a two-year contract extension. There has been no word on whether or not this will remain a two-way deal, but with Nosek still spending most of his time in the American Hockey League we believe that is in fact the case.

According to St. James' report Nosek will earn $575,000/$175,000 in 2016-17, then $650,000 in 2017-18 under the terms of his new deal. The 23 year old forward has only appeared in 6 games for the Red Wings, but clearly the team view him as a valuable asset, and considering he plays center, and the premium put on that position in the National Hockey League it's not hard to see why.
