Jimmy Howard was beaten on the first Kings' shot of the game and the Wings played catch-up.
The Wings came out of the first period on top thanks to Tomas Tatar second goal in 2 straight games and Alexey Marchenko.
Anze Kopitar brought everyone to square one when he scored on the power play, after Jimmy Howard tripped up Jeff Carter in front of his net. Alec Martinez gave the Kings a 3-2 to lead when he scored Los Angeles' second power play goal of the night.
Dwight king would add an empty net goal and the Kings ended the Wings' 4 road games winning streak.
