Things took a turn for the worse on Friday night in New York City when the game between the Rangers and Ottawa Senators had to be halted after a scary injury took place.

And it wasn’t one of the players that got injured.

As Rangers blue liner Jacob Trouba made a clearing attempt, the puck bounced on referee Tim Peel’s head and took him out. The poor official fell to the ice and needed help to get back up and was escorted out of the ice with the help of trainers.

The game went on with three officials on hand while Peel headed to the concussion protocol.

Tough job!

The good news is that Peel eventually returned to finish the period and looks to be fine. Relief - even if you don't like the guy. Trouba even went over to apologize to the official.
