It hasn’t exactly been a banner season for New Jersey Devils goaltender Cory Schneider. He famously went over a calendar year between NHL victories after battling some brutal hip and abdominal injuries.

When he finally returned to the lineup for good in February, he earned back to back to back victories for the Devils and looked to be rounding into form once again.

At the February 25th trade deadline the Devils shipped backup Keith Kinkaid to the Columbus Blue Jackets which signalled a return to Schneider as “the man” in New Jersey. Unfortunately, the Devils have continued to struggle, despite Schneider’s strong play the past month and tonight… well Schneider may have hit rock bottom.

Check out this goal from Buffalo Sabres forward Sam Reinhart against Schneider tonight:

Ouch. You just gotta feel for Schneider, man…

Here’s hoping the veteran netminder can put together a healthy run next season and get the Devils back into postseason contention.
