There has been a major change to the United States World Cup roster.

With Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ryan Callahan ruled out as a result of an injury requiring offseason surgery there was a void left to fill on the roster and while many believed that the runner up for the Conn Smythe Trophy, Penguins forward Phil Kessel. would be the likely replacement.

However that will not be the case although whether that is because once again the underrated Kessel has been snubbed, or because he also required offseason surgery to repair his damaged hand is unclear at this time, we're leaning towards the hand surgery playing a favor.

Instead New Jersey Devils break out star Kyle Palmieri who will replace Callahan after impressing many with his first 30 goal season. The Devils themselves have confirmed the announcement via social media.
