Report: 7 NHL teams spotted scouting the Leafs tonight.

We are in the middle of trade season in the National Hockey League and teams are sending out their scouts to watch their rivals and find potential trade opportunities.

While the two biggest trade rumors around the Toronto Maple Leafs, those involving Tyler Bozak and James van Riemsdyk, appear to have quieted somewhat at this point in the season, there were still a large number of scouts in Toronto on Tuesday night.

According to a report from The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta no fewer than 7 teams have scouts in attendance tonight, although it's unclear who they are currently watching.

The teams in attendance are the Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets, Los Angeles Kings, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, and St. Louis Blues.

Worth noting here is the fact that the Rangers and Blue Jackets each had two scouts in attendance. The Jackets are looking for a center and Tyler Bozak would certainly fill that need, while the Rangers are reportedly considering a trade of captain Ryan McDonagh, and with the Leafs looking for a defenseman that could be a fit as well.
