Report: After strong start to the season another goaltender goes down to injury!

For a second it looked like goaltender Jonathan Bernier could very well be playing himself into the number one job in the Anaheim Ducks net, but that has been cut short.

According to a report from Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register, Bernier suffered an upper-body injury at some point during the first period, although how exactly that occurred is still unknown, and as a result he was forced to leave the game.

The Ducks were forced instead to field their presumed number one, John Gibson, who has played far worse than Bernier so far this season. Gibson's .903 save percentage through six games has left much to be desired, while Bernier on the other hand has posted an impressive .929 over a limited sample size of two games.

The Ducks are also in a dire cap situation with star defenseman Hampus Lindholm still unsigned, so they can't afford to find a replacement should this injury prove to be serious.
