Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin scored two goals against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night, his 16th and 17th of the season, which now gives him sole possession of the 21st rank for goals scored in the history of the NHL with 575 goals. He has passed New York Islanders legend Mike Bossy

Ovechkin, 32, was drafted first overall by the Capitals in 2004. In 946 games played in the NHL, he scored 575 goals and added 484 assists for 1059 points. He added 90 points in 97 playoff games.

He won the Maurice "Rocket" Richard trophy six times, and a total of 14 individual NHL trophies.

Mike Bossy had a little message to congratulate Ovechkin!
