It's long been a tradition for some teams to mask the injuries of players to the media - particularly those that occur to star players.

The belief is that it is in the best interest of the players in question that it not be public knowledge what they're suffering from, in fear of opposing teams targeting the players where they were injured once they recover.

This is particularly true of players who suffer from concussions - it'll often be described as an upper-body injury. By now, we can tell based on the contact that caused the injury and the simple 'upper-body injury' label that it is almost always a concussion.

So why hide it? Ken Hitchcock, head coach of the Dallas Stars, shared his views on the matter.

Hitchcock essentially iterates what we described about upper-body injuries. We all know what it is - so why not just say it and save people the trouble?

Mike Babcock spoke about his opinion on the matter this morning after practice.

His stance, while not completely against what Hitchcock says, is quite different when it comes to head injuries, and he'll continue to hide what the exact injury is when it comes to speaking to the media.

Do you agree with this practice?
