The Philadelphia Flyers provided an injury update to one of their top young players this morning.

Nolan Patrick, drafted 2nd overall in 2017, was injured in a game against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.

He had since returned to team practice, with the worst-case scenario of a concussion being seemingly avoided. However, he is still feeling the effects of the hit, and will miss a second straight game.

Patrick isn't lighting up the scoresheet just yet, he only has 3 points in 9 games, but his impact on the ice has been very noticeable and his continued absence isn't good news for the team.

The Flyers take on the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight.
