It was a clear disappointment for Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas this summer when it was clear his wrist injury would keep him out of the World Cup of Hockey, but it may have been the best course in the long term.

In a recent Gudas revealed that he was still one to three weeks away from fully recovering from the injury, one he says involved ligament damage in his wrist dating all the way back to last season, but despite that expects to be ready to go come the start of the National Hockey League's regular season.

"I don't think the start of the season is in any danger," said Gudas as per Flyers insider Sam Carchidi. "I'm pretty positive I'm going to be ready."

Gudas has started to skate with teammates at the team's practice facility, although he has been unable to shoot due to the pain in his wrist, limiting how much he can work on prior to the start of the season. He has quickly developed into a key component of Philadelphia's blue line, and the hope is his prediction on his status for the start of regular season is correct.
