The Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues are in the midst of the best summer of their lives. The offseason celebrations are in full swing for most members of the Cup winning Blues roster, but for a few of the team’s unsigned players it must be difficult to not have at least one foot out the door.

This is obviously the case for unrestricted free agent Patrick Maroon, but unsigned restricted free agent Joel Edmunson is likely having a hard time reconciling his feelings, as well. The 26 year old defenseman who made a name for himself during the Blues’ series against the Dallas Stars is set to have his contract decided by a third part arbitrator later this month. Should he receive an awarded salary that exceed $3.5 million annually, Blues insider Lou Korac of NHL.com believes the team would walk away and let Edmunson hit the open market.
