The Score reports that Jay Bouwmeester will replace yet another injured defenseman on Team Canada at the upcoming World Cup of Hockey.

Duncan Keith suffered a knee injury last season and has not yet fully recovered. His slow progress will prevent him from attending the World Cup, and Canada’s management opted to stick with a left-handed defenseman in order to fill in for the Chicago Blackhawks’ rearguard.

Notable omissions from the roster have stirred a little controversy, with names such as P.K. Subban’s and Kris Letang’s being once again looked over.

Bouwmeester, who had 3 goals and 19 points in 72 games last season, has succeeded with Team Canada in the past with a gold medal in Sochi, three World Championship medals, and was featured in the 2004 World Cup.
