Report: Bruins cut veteran forward from team
KeyStone Press

The Boston Bruins announced that they've released forward Teddy Purcell from his professional try out.

The undrafted Newfoundland-native had a successful run with the Tampa Bay Lightning but has regressed over the last couple years, being bounced from Tampa to the Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, and then to the Los Angeles Kings, where he spent most of the season with their AHL affliate.

The veteran has a respectable 307 points in 571 NHL regular season games.

The Bruins also announced the cuts of Tommy Cross, Jordan Szwarz, and Jakub Zboril. They will all report to Providence.
