The Boston Bruins have announced that they’vre re-signed forward Tim Schaller to a one-year contract worth $775,000. The 6’2, 219 lb forward played 59 games for the Bruins last season after signing as a free agent from the Buffalo Sabres system. In those 59 games, Schaller put up a career high seven goals and 14 points.

While those numbers may not seem impressive, the 26 year-old New Hampshire native still has some offensive upside. He has skill in tight and can make plays when provided with space and time. Mostly, however, Schaller has earned his way into the NHL through his strong defensive play and he’ll need to keep that up if he expects to earn a contract beyond 2017-18.
