In case you missed it, Vancouver Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal reported earlier this week that Canucks defenseman Derrick Pouliot is not expected to be re-signed by the team this offseason. In effect, the former first rounder is being dumped to free agency.

Well… it turns out Pouliot isn’t alone in this respect as Dhaliwal reported earlier today that another former 1st round pick Canucks forward Brendan Gaunce is expected to walk via free agency this offseason as well.

Check it out:

The 25 year old who was chosen 26th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft managed just three games with the Canucks this season, but made the most of his limited opportunity by putting up a goal and three points. In 117 career games though, Gaunce has just six goals and 15 points.
