Report: Canucks' Rodin clears waivers
Keystone Press

Vancouver Canucks forward Anton Rodin has cleared waivers and will report to the Utica Comets of the AHL. The 2015-16 Swedish Elite League champion has had a trying re-introduction to his NHL career, after last season and this preseason.

Rodin looked like he was going to be an impact player for the team Canucks during the 2016-17 preseason, but a brutal knee injury and a tough rehabilitation put him on the shelf for most of the season. This season, he-upped with the squad on a one year-deal in a last ditch attempt to make the team… unfortunately, he didn’t make the cut.

After being placed on waivers and clearing yesterday, Rodin will ply his trade with the Comets to start the season and is a top candidate should the team need to recall a forward due to injury. It was speculated that Rodin would bolt back to Sweden if he didn’t make the Canucks out of training camp, but that doesn’t seem to be the case any longer.

What’s your take, Canucks fans? Is there still some potential left in the 26-year-old?
