Report: Canucks send Swedish league MVP to the waiver wire!

The Vancouver Canucks made a curious move on Friday.

Back in March the Canucks signed the Swedish League's most valuable player in Anton Rodin, however it seems he did not do enough at training camp to earn himself a roster spot with the National Hockey League team.

General manager Jim Benning has confirmed that Rodin has been sent to the waiver wire, presumably with the intent of assigning him to the American Hockey League, however given that Rodin is on a one-year deal at a very reasonable price, there may be rival teams willing to gamble on him.

The 26-year-old has only played in 3 NHL and 3 AHL games scoring a combined 0 goals and 2 assists and recording a combined plus minus rating of 0.
