Report: Canucks sign former Top 10 draft pick on Monday
Keystone Press

The Vancouver Canucks announced a very interesting signing on Monday.

Former 7th overall pick in the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft Jack Skille has earned himself a professional tryout with the Canucks according to a report from Canucks Now's Vanessa Hang.

Despite his draft pedigree Skille has struggled to find his stride at the NHL level, but last season he did appear in 74 games with the Colorado Avalanche, the most of his NHL career, indicating that there is a role for him even if it is in a bottom six spot.

Skille put up 8 goals and 6 assists during that stretch with the Avalanche, so don't be surprised if a solid training camp earns him a spot on the Canucks roster even if it's a limited depth role.
