Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan announced this morning that captain Sidney Crosby is dealing with an undisclosed “upper body injury.” It’s unknown whether or not he’ll be in the team’s lineup for tomorrow night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Coach Sullivan: “Sid is being evaluated for an upper-body injury.”

Now, while the Penguins haven’t used the “C Word” (concussion) to classify Crosby’s injury, that hasn’t prevented the hockey world from going off the deep end with speculation. Crosby, of course, has a long history of concussion problems, but the superstar centre hasn’t missed a game due to injury since the 2016-17 season. Hopefully this is all much ado about nothing.

On the other hand… he DID take a nasty spill in last night’s game against the New Jersey Devils.

Check out Crosby go HARD into the end boards on this Jake Guentzel goal:

Ouch. That doesn’t look good. Again, here’s hoping this is all much ado about nothing. Fingers cross… unless of course you’re a Philadelphia Flyers or Washington Capitals fan…
