Report: Dreger comments on recent Maple Leafs' trade rumors.

There have been some mild rumors surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs as of late.

The most notable of those rumors have surrounded forward James Van Riemsdyk, and while his name has come up in several rumors, the most common whispers have linked him to a potential trade with the Anaheim Ducks. although admittedly this was prior to the signing of defenseman Hampus Lindholm. Since the Lindholm signing those talks have quieted significantly.

On Thursday TSN insider Darren Dreger was a guest on TSN's 1050 radio and he effectively shut down all rumors surrounding the Leafs. While Dreger didn't flat out state that there weren't any discussion happening, he did make it clear that if any talks were talking place there is nothing "substantive."

"I don't get the sense that Toronto is in the heat of anything,"  said Dreger as per Nichols on Hockey.

If you were one of those fans hoping to see JVR shipped out for help on the blue line, it sounds like at the very least you will have to wait a while longer.
