Jonathan Drouin is an important member of the Montreal Canadiens, but the young forward still has some unfinished business with his former team, the Tampa Bay Lighting

In his weekly 31 thoughts, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman noted that his Sportsnet colleague Chris Johnston reported this weekend that an arbitration case involving Drouin and Tampa Bay was on the table. Drouin was entitled to a $212,500 bonus for 0.73 points per game in his last year with the Bolts, but ended up recording .726.

Thingkin the number would be rounded up, Drouin expected the bonus, but when the  Lightning said no, the forward filed a grievance.

"I had no feel for how this would go for either Drouin or the Lightning," Friedman wrote. "They negotiated a settlement for 90 per cent of the bonus. From what I understand, both sides recognized there was plenty of NHL precedence for rounding up."

Let's hope things turned out well for Drouin.
