It appears that one of the National Hockey League's unrestricted free agents has grown tired of waiting for a contract offer in North America.

According to a report from Russian hockey insider Igor Eronko of Sports Express has revealed that 30 year old NHL journeyman Eric Tangradi has accepted an offer to play in the Kontinental Hockey League this upcoming season. Eronko reports that the winger has agreed to a one year deal with Barys Nur-Sultan of the KHL, although he did not provide any details regarding the financial terms of this deal.

In spite of the fact that he has never been an NHL regular Tangradi had managed to carve out a nice little niche for himself in the National Hockey League. He has a career total of just 150 NHL games but has spent the better part of a decade in the NHL to some degree. Tangradi was selected in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks, but he would never play a single game for that organization. Instead Tangradi made his NHL debut in 2009 as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins and bounced around to several teams after that. Although a significant portion of his time was spent in the American Hockey League, Tangradi would go on to play for the Winnipeg Jets, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings and the aforementioned New Jersey Devils, all at the NHL level.

If this is indeed the end of his NHL journey, and I strongly suspect that it is, Tangradi will end his NHL career with 5 goals and 11 assists for a total of 16 points over those 150 games played.
