There was a huge trade rumor that broke on Monday, one that suggested the Ottawa Senators had approached Erik Karlsson and requested his 10 team no trade list.
The rumor was sparked when Karlsson made comments in the press suggesting that he had the intention of testing the free-agent market in 2019 when his current contract expires, something that reportedly did not sit well with the top brass in Ottawa.
Well it is now no longer just a rumor as on Tueaday the superstar defenseman confirmed that he had in fact submitted his 10 team no trade list to the Senators organization.
Senators insider Bruce Garrioch was the first to break the story, although he claims that Karlsson played it off as if it was no big deal. According to Garrioch Karlsson stated that it was merely "a formality" and part of his contract.
However if the rumors are to be believed, while it is indeed a part of his contract, this is the first time the Senators have actually approached Karlsson and asked him for the list.
Could the Senators really be contemplating a trade of Erik Karlsson?
