Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin had an outstanding game against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday afternoon, scoring two goals and two assists to help his team to win 4-1 against Detroit. With his two goals performance, he passed Rick Kehoe for the fourth most career multi-goal games in Penguins history with 49.

Drafted second overall by the Penguins in 2004, the 31-year old forward scored 19 goals and 27 assists for a total of 46 points in 41 games played so far this season. In 747 games played in the NHL, the Russian has 347 goals and 531 assists for 878 points, and added 157 points in 149 playoff games. Malkin helped the Penguins to win the Stanley Cup in 2009, 2016 and 2017, and he won six individual trophies, including the Conn Smythe Award (playoffs MVP) in 2009. Malkin has eight points (5G+3A) in his last three games.

The Penguins are currently fifth in the Metropolitan division with a record of 23-19-3. They will play their next game tomorrow against the New York Rangers.
