Things finally beginning to move.

Earlier in the week a report suggested that the dam had finally broken on the contract talks between Johnny Gaudreau and the Flames and now it appears to be official.

It sounds like this is now truly make or break time for the Calgary Flames, according to a report from TSN senior reporter Frank Seravalli the Flames have dispatched general manager Brad Treliving to New York in the hopes of hammering out negotiations with Gaudreau's agent Lewis Gross.

By all accounts the two sides are still very far apart with Gaudreau seeking upwards of $8 million per season, and the Flames rumored to be unwilling to make him their highest paid player, putting their offer somewhere around Mike Giordano's $6.75 million.

That of course may all have changed, and if it hasn't we will probably be hearing something big breaking in the next few days. In fact either way it's likely to be a major announcement.
