The Calgary Flames have completed an important piece of business today.

According to an official report from the Calgary Flames website, the team has agreed on a very short term deal, just one year. with defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon.

Wotherspoonm,m a 24-year-old former second round draft pick has failed to find a consistent spot on the Flames National Hockey League roster since being drafted in 2011, and that is likely the reason for such a short term on his contract.

He will earn $650,00 on this deal, and is likely hoping that he can demonstrate he is worth both more money and more term on future deals before this new one expires.
