Report: Flyer's officially buyout forward R.J. Umberger.

The Philadelphia Flyers have made it official.

According to a report on the Flyers' official website the team has bought out the existing contract of veteran forward R.J.Umburger in order to gain more flexibility with reports of a potentially stagnant cap growth next season.

The move turns the page on an ugly chapter in recent Flyer's history and an ugly trade that saw the team trade fan favorite Scott Hartnell for a player that contributed close to nothing in his second stint with the organization.

Over the past two seasons Umberger managed a total of just 11 goals and 15 assists and when you consider he carries a cap hit of $4.6 million dollars fans will not be sad to see him go.
