Enough already… ugh.

The Philadelphia Flyers, who are already without the services of James van Riemsdyk and Samuel Morin, received some more bad injury news yesterday when it was revealed that veteran forward Michael Raffl will miss four to six weeks with a foot injury.

This report according to Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Sam Carchidi:

It’s expected that forward Corban Knight will replace Raffl on the team’s fourth line and penalty killing unit. "We've got other guys who can play," said Flyers GM Ron Hextall, when discussing about Raff’s injury. "Other teams lose players. We've got to move on here. Raf will be back in four to six weeks and we'll welcome him back, but right now we don't have him, so someone else has to go in and get the job done."

Knight, for what it’s worth, is looking forward to the opportunity of being reunited with AHL lineman Scott Laughton, at least on the PK. "We killed a lot together in the minors, so we definitely have that familiarity," Knight said.

Hextall is hopeful that Knight can be part of the solution to the team’s woeful PK.

"Visually, our penalty killing has been better — it's been a lot better than last year," Hextall said. "Now the numbers obviously don't show that. … There's areas where we're doing a better job, but the sticks in lanes and the reads down low" can improve.
