Forward Scottie Upshall has spent the preseason on a professional tryout with the Vancouver Canucks, but he will now reportedly head to the St. Louis Blues on Friday.

According to Irfaan Gaffar of Sportsnet, Upshall  is expected to sign a new one-year deal with the Blues on Friday.

It would be Upshall's third consecutive season with the franchise, all of which have been on one-year deals. He appeared in 73 games during the regular season last year and amassed 10 goals and eight assists, before suiting up for 11 postseason games in which he did not record a point.

The Blues lost Robby Fabbri for the entire season and are looking for offensive renforcement. GM Doug Armstrong even mentioned that the team was looking a the possibility of getting future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr a contract.
