A former Montreal Canadiens forward may be headed to the New York Rangers.

A breaking news report from Rangers insider Larry Brooks of the New York Post has revealed that 28-year-old winger Bobby Farnham will be going to the Rangers on a professional tryout offer.

Farnham played in just three National Hockey League games with the Canadiens last season, recording no point over that stretch. However just prior to his time with the Habs Farnham appeared in 50 games for the Devils in the 2015-2016 season recording 8 goals and 2 assists.

It seems likely that both the Rangers and Farnham are hoping he can regain the form he showed as a member of the Devils, and he will have the oppurtunity to demonstrate just that in Rangers training camp.

It's important to note however that a PTO is not an NHL contract, and the Rangers could in theory cut Farnham at any point should they feel the need to do so.
