Andrew Berkshire of Sportsnet is an expert in hockey statistics and analytics who recently put together a list of the top 20 goaltenders in the National Hockey League.
In utilizing an unorthodox yet unique approach, he ranked the goalies on a score of 100 based on performance (worth 50 points), consistency (20) and 30 for difficulty. Only goalies who have played in a minimum of 75 games throughout the course of the last three seasons were included.
One of the Detroit Red Wings’ netminders happened to crack Berkshire’s top-20 list.
