According to a report from Vegas Golden Knights insider David Schoen, the team is looking to move defenseman Colin Miller and his onerous four year, $15.5 million contract.

The 26 year old Miller makes $3.875 million against the salary cap for the next three seasons and often found himself as a healthy scratch down the stretch for the Golden Knights.

He managed three goals and 29 points in 65 games this past season and put up 10 goals and 41 points in 2017-18, so Miller is likely to generate some interest on the trade market. No one is arguing that Miller’s not deserving of his contract, it’s just that the Golden Knights are under severe cap restraints and they have incredible depth on the blue line. Nate Schmidt, Deryk England, Brayden McNabb, Shea Theodore and Jon Merrill all hold down spots ahead of Miller. In other words… something’s got to give.

So… where does he end up? Certainly there are several teams who will be in on Miller, especially teams looking for some help on the power play. Expect the Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks to kick tires on Miller this offseason.
