The Boston Bruins are expected to get a huge boost on the back end tonight as they faced the St. Louis Blues at home in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final.

When facing media on Wednesday morning, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy revealed that defenseman Matt Grzelcyk has been cleared to play and will be a game-time decision for tonight’s ultimate contest.

Many expected him to be in uniform, taking Connor Clifton’s spot on the blue line.

Grzelcyk was still skating with a non-contact sweater in Tueaday’s practice, however, Cassidy made sure to report that the doctors had cleared him.

The blue liner has been out since early in Boston’s Game 2 loss to the Blues when he was boarded from behind by Blues fourth liner Oskar Sundqvist, and appeared to have something of a setback when he was trying to rush into possibly returning in Game 5.

Many believe it was a long shot to see Grzekcyk back in action tonight, especially after Cassidy appeared reluctant to hand up his defense pairings for Game 7.

However, we can understand how the Bruins want their best players on the ice tonight and especially how badly Grzekcyk wants to return to help his teammates win the Stanley Cup.
