According to a report from Montreal Canadiens insider Eric Engels of Sportsnet, there is serious concern that the playing career of top prospect Noah Juulsen is in jeopardy due to an eye injury.

Engels reports that a senior executive in the organization would neither confirm nor deny the assertion that Juulsen’s career is in jeopardy.

Check it out:

"He has an upper-body injury, an injury that requires rest, and it is not a concussion," a senior executive with the Canadiens told Sportsnet. "He’s out indefinitely."

You may recall that Juulsen was struck in the face twice with a puck during a 5-4 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals back in November. It was announced the next day that he had suffered a facial fracture. Juulsen has since played four games with the Habs and three games with the team’s AHL affiliate Laval Rocket, but has not played a game in over a month.

The 21 year old Surrey, BC native was the team's first round pick (26th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
