The Montreal Canadiens have added a young defenseman to their roster.

The Habs announced via an official release that they have come to terms on a three-year entry-level-deal with 18-year-old Victor Mete. Mete was the team's fourth round draft pick in 2016 and spent the 2016-2017 campaign with the Ontario hockey League's London Knights.

Mete accounted for an impressive 15 goals, 29 assists over the course of 50 games with the Knights, but by far his most impressive stat is the +36 plus minus rating he acquired over that stretch.

We expect that his contract will begin next season, but the Canadiens do have the option of bringing him in during the regular season or playoffs should they deem it necessary.
