For many years, Sweden has continued to be a power house in terms of constantly developing unbelievable hockey players. Here are seven Swedish NHL prospects that we think will make some waves in the next couple of years.

Timothy Liljegren (Toronto Maple Leafs)- Many people believe that this player was the steal of the 2017 NHL draft. A very skilled and crafty defenseman. Should make the Leafs lineup in the next few years.

Elias Pettersson (Vancouver Canucks)- Has proven that he can be a clutch goal scoring threat. Will fit very nicely with the crop of Canucks prospect aiming to make a statement in the near future.

Oskar Steen (Boston Bruins)- Arguable the fastest skater on this list. Can be a very shifty and creative forward for the Bruins. He needs time to properly develop and flourish in the SHL.

William Lagesson (Edmonton Oilers)- Joining a team that could always add more and more defenseman down the road. A big D-man who can bring a physical game.

Christoffer Ehn (Detroit Red Wings)- A center who has the ability to play a consistent two way game. Ehn can also play on the wing if need be.

Lucas Carlsson (Chicago Blackhawks)-  The Blackhawks should be excited about this prospect. A stay at home defenseman who if you needed him to can join the offensive rush.

Filip Gustavsson (Pittsburgh Penguins)-  A strong goaltender prospect who is known for his rebound control and strong leg work.
