The Ottawa Senators will have one of their star player in the lineup for tomorrow night’s opener. Head coach Guy Boucher announced that forward Derick Brassard will be in Ottawa’s lineup when they’ll face the Washington Capitals.

Brassard went through a right shoulder surgery after the Senators were eliminated by the Pittsburgh Penguins in last year’s Eastern Conference Final. Brassard, 30, was drafted sixth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2006. The Jackets traded him to the New York Rangers in a blockbuster deal in 2013. Ottawa acquired him and a seventh round pick in 2018 from the Rangers last summer, sending back Mika Zibanejad and a second round pick in 2018 in return. In 644 games, Brassard registered 382 points. He added 55 points in 78 playoff games.
