Report: Huge update on the injured Evgeni Malkin.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have had to make do with one of their best players, forward Evgeni Malkin and although it may still be some time before he returns to the line up there is finally some good news regarding his injury.

By all accounts Malkin will miss his ninth straight game this evening when the Penguins face off against the Boston Bruins, however Malkin has informed reporters that he expects to be back on the ice this week, specifically he stated that this Saturday's upcoming contest against the Winnipeg Jets is his target for return.

Outside of the inuries that have kept him out of the line up this season, Malkin has been terrific, averaging a point a game over the 49 games he has played with the Penguins this season.
