Amidst the controversy over Evander Kane skipping practice and getting into altercations with his fellow teammates, a decision needed to be made regarding whether Kane would even be able to continue playing this season. Kane has been hampered by a shoulder injury for most of the season, and a choice between playing through pain or undergoing season ending surgery needed to be made.
Well it appears that Kane has made that decision and will undergo surgery after all.
TSN Insider Darren Dreger tweeted out that Kane will miss approximately 4-6 months pending the procedure to repair his injured shoulder.
This may hurt Kane’s trade value slightly, but is unlikely to chase away all suitors. The Jets are actively looking to trade Kane as his antics have become a distraction to the team. Do not expect Kane to be with the team much longer.
