REPORT: It Was Inevitable

The Chicago Blackhawks have something special that lies within the second line of the team's powerful offensive groupings.

Last season the Patrick Kane Artem Anisimov and Artemi Panarin line was practically inseparable due to their stellar performances as a unit.

During the preseason and a bit during the start of the 2016-2017 NHL regular season, coach Joel Quenneville adjusted the lines so that Panarin and Kane were not necessarily paired up.  He did this in an attempt to spread that creativity amongst the other offensive lineups.

Now in the regular season it seems that the second line has been cemented between the three stars and the scoreboard agrees.

The Panarin-Anisimov-Kane lineup was responsible for five goals during the 7-4 defeat of the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night. While playing at even strength the second line was able to produce 56.5% of shots attempted. Overall the line has scored 12 goals in the past two games.

Watch Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks put up big numbers as they face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. (ET).
